Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Young Canadian's Challenge
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Program - Young Canadian's Challenge is an award program designed to challenge young people to become more well-rounded individuals. These awards are earned, not won by youth. Thus any student who wants to earn an award can, by completing and submitting all the requirements. Through this program youth aged 14 - 25 can earn three separate awards (Bronze, Silver and Gold) through participation in four different activity areas (Skill Development, Service, Physical Recreation, and Outdoor Adventure).
This program is a lot of fun and many people are completing the requirements of the award without even knowing they are doing so. One of the most challenging components of the award for many people is the compilation, recording and submitting of the documentation and log books. This award is recognized world-wide and looks fantastic on a resume and shows employers and selection committees that recipients are well-rounded, organized and determined individuals.
