My name is Deanna Miles and I am delighted to be returning as the School Guidance Counsellor at St. Kevin’s Junior High for this my fifth year 2019 - 2020. I am originally from the West Coast of Newfoundland from the town of St. George’s. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2008. I received my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University in December 2010 and worked as a School Guidance Counsellor at Mealy Mountain Collegiate in Happy Valley – Goose Bay from January 2011 - June 2015. I have taught grade 7 science and technology in Goose Bay and had the pleasure of teaching Junior High Science and French Immersion for a short time at MacDonald Drive Junior High.
When not in school I like to keep busy, you will find me involved in the Girl Guides of Canada Program and the St. Kevin's Parish. I also enjoy the outdoors and keeping active - you may catch me enjoying one of the spectacular hiking spots, skiing, running, or swimming.
I am excited to begin another great year working with you and your children. Please feel free to contact me at anytime and come by and see me. Junior High is a fun yet challenging time for our students so please know that I am here to help and support you and them during these times.
